How Long has Paleo Been Around?
The very idea of the Paleolithic diet can be traced by to the research notes of the gastroenterologist Walter Voegtlin, back in the 1970s. He was the first person to have first-hand experience that following a diet similar to our Stone Age ancestors can significantly improve a person’s health. This idea was later pursued and developed by Stanley Boyd Eaton and Melvin Konner – both are the originators of the Paleo nutrition. They published a paper called Paleolithic Nutrition in The New England Journal of Medicine. The paper is used as a foundational document for all things Paleo.
In 2002, Loren Cordain has published a book called The Paleo Diet and this is where the Paleo Diet name was trademarked.

How did Paleo Influence the World of Fitness?
Although it has been around for many years, it was only recently that Paleo has gained mastodon-like momentum. Here are some of the ways Paleo has influenced the fitness world:
• The primal diet consisting of real, whole foods can be great for the body. We don’t need processed foods in our life. Although we have evolved to consume these types of unhealthy food, we can still shed our current self with enough hardwork and discipline.
• Paleo has proven that you don’t need to count calories in order to experience weight loss. In Paleo, you just need to follow a number of rules and outside of that, you can pretty much eat everything you want.
